The Equilibrium Institute participates in the implementation of a project supported by the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) which helps mapping the barriers to the decarbonization of the steel, cement, and chemical industries and drafting a roadmap to a carbon-neutral future. A new professional, Dóra Csernus has joined our team as Senior Climate and Environmental Policy Advisor, to lead the implementation of the EUKI project. The project, called “Decarbonising the industrial sector: sustainable financing as an option?” is a cooperation between representatives of all of the V4 countries: the Czech (International Sustainable Finance Center), the Polish (WiseEuropa), the Slovak (MESA 10) and the Hungarian think tanks are brought together by a Czech project manager (EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy). The project aims to support decision-makers in the V4 countries, in industrial, government, finance, or other relevant sectors to increase knowledge, related to the challenges of the heavy industry and phasing out of fossil fuels.
