Gábor Filippov was born in 1984, in Budapest. He obtained two degrees from the Eötvös Loránd University; one in History from the Faculty of Humanities, and one in Political Science from the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Previously Mr Filippov has worked as a parliamentary expert, political analyst, and editor, and has taught several courses at the Eötvös Loránd University and at the Bibó István College. His analyses and commentaries have been published in several national and foreign press products, and he is a frequent guest on television and radio programmes. Gábor Filippov is the author and editor of several scientific and educational volumes and articles.
His research interests include the history of far-right movements in Europe and Hungary, the history of regime change in Hungary, and the functioning of modern autocracies.
Since the foundation of the Equilibrium Institute in 2018, he has been the Director of Research of the think tank.
